I’m trying to start the demo but the username and password do not work. Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Shermaine

Shermain, it’s tricky the way its worded but if you put in demo in both username and password, you’ll get in.

        Hi,

I tried both account, demo and admin with their password and I can’t access to product.

        Regards.

Sometimes the user passwords get changed by someone testing the admin functions. The demo is reset every 2 hrs, so the passwords will be reset to the default ever 2 hrs.

Sadly, but this project is barely alive.
To log in as a admininistrator use:
    User: admin
    Password: admin

If the passwords don’t work it is probably because someone changed them. The passwords get reset every couple of hours on the demo sites.

  8. Wolter de Vries December 24, 2011 at 5:40 pm #

It works with demo as user and demo as password

    • Stephen Lawrence February 2, 2012 at 5:11 pm #

Did you check to see if it was in the moderation queue? Could also happen if our demo is reset at the same time you are using it.

  11. Clive April 13, 2012 at 6:58 am #

Submitted two documents – neither of them appeared on the site.
    :(

    • Stephen Lawrence April 14, 2012 at 7:24 am #

Did you check to see if they were in the approval queue? If you log in as demo/demo and add a file, you would then want to login as admin/admin to see the approval queue.

I have triesd Demo. It works good and is best for storing scanned or fixed formated files.
It seems that if I am storing regular document / spreadsheet which may move within user for reviewing it requireds to download and upload every edit.

    Hello,

I checked the demo version, but could not figure out if docMan could be suitable for us.
I am searching for a tool we can use for our project work.
We would need a platform where group members can upload documents and get information on the current status; more or less a deliverable management system.
For us the following features would be important:
    - Status report for deliverables in conjunction with a schedule (deadline: dd.mm.yyyy,).
    - The following status messages should be displayed: fill submitted, file past due, file accepted by the group, file forwarded to cours instructor, file accepted by course instructor.
    - If the file is uploaded, the status messages should automatically jump to “submitted”.
    - It would be nice but not essential if the system automatically sends out reminders to group members, before reaching the deadline and if the deadline is exceeded.
    - the software should be installed on a local server and allow for user management.

Could you let me know if docMan is suitable for that kind of deliverable management?

    Thank you very much, M.

i am not able to upload any document with admin & demo user

    • DMS Administrator May 16, 2013 at 4:58 am #

The username/passwords are “admin/admin” and “demo/demo”. It is possible that someone changed those in the demo, but it will “reset” every hour so try again after waiting a while.

Is it possible to customize the selection for the filter fields?
Same question for the fields displayed in the list of documments?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

    Regards,
    Chandan

    • Stephen Lawrence August 26, 2013 at 8:46 am #

I’m getting the same error with both URLs. Is anyone even active on this project any more? It looked promising until I see the last comments here are like six months ago.

      • Stephen Lawrence March 25, 2014 at 6:56 am #

Just an issue with our demo setup. Should be ok now.

Your subdomain for http://demo.opendocman.com/ can not be found. I found it the other day and it was working.

    • Stephen Lawrence February 24, 2014 at 10:11 am #

Sorry about that. Made some changes to the demo URL but forgot to update cloud flare settings. Try again in a bit.

    Hello,

this is a great system. It would be perfect for me if I could do just one thing with it. Would I be able to disable file uploads from general users while just making the admin be the only person that can upload and share files….basically I just want all users to have access to files in view only…..please advise.

    • Stephen Lawrence July 23, 2014 at 9:17 pm #

The next release will have that feature: Hide the “Add” or “Check-in” area of the site from specific users.

  25. Dwayne M July 23, 2014 at 8:42 am #

    Hello,

Is there anyway that I could disable regular users from uploading files? I only want that admins be able to upload files and share with certain users. Please advise.
